Copper sulfate is used as a fungicide, algaecide, root killer, and herbicide in both agriculture and non-agricultural settings.

It is also used as an antimicrobial and molluscicide.

Copper Sulphate is an inorganic compound that combines sulfur with copper. It can kill bacteria, algae, roots, plants, snails and fungi. It is for this reason that many farmers use it in footbaths for sheep to prevent and treat Foot Rot. Copper is an essential mineral and as such Copper Sulphate can also be used as a drench for animals with a copper deficiency.
